Meet NASA astronaut and Minnesota-native Josh Cassada at the Bell Museum! This event is free and open to the public.
From the website: "We are happy to host Dr. Josh Cassada, NASA Astronaut and Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy, as he visits his hometown and home state for events with school students and the general public.
On Thursday January 14, Cassada will give a public lecture in the Bell Museum Auditorium where he will talk and take questions about NASA, space, and his favorite subject, the wonders of science! Earlier that day, Cassada will be visiting with high school students from White Bear Lake with our traveling ExploraDome team.
Cassada grew up in White Bear Lake, graduating from White Bear Lake Area High School in 1991. He attended Albion College in Michigan, where he earned an undergraduate degree in physics, and went on to receive his master's and doctorate degrees in high-energy physics from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2000, he joined the U.S. Navy and is a Lt. Commander and former test pilot. Cassada was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate in 2013, completed two years of training in July 2015, and is now a member of NASA's astronaut corps."
